Update: 16 Seafarers From MV Anastasia Crew Finally Land In India
After months of negotiations finally, the stranded seafarers of MV Anastasia have returned to Indian from China. The crew was stranded in China as Beijing denied permission to unload Australian coal cargo carried by the ship.
The 16 Indian sailors of Anastasia reached Japan on February 10 and from there they came to India. Earlier the crew of another ship MV Jag Anand reached India following the same route. The crew change was arranged by MSC, the shipping company which managed the ship.
Earlier in February, the Minister of State for Shipping, Mansukh Mandavia revealed that the crew will reach home by February 14 and indeed they have.
One of Anastasia’s crew confirmed their arrival in Mumbai on February 14. The ship was stranded in Caofeidian port of China since September last year.

After much negotiations, China has finally agreed to release the crew of MV Anastasia who was stranded at the Caofeidian port of China because the Chinese officials denied permission for the unloading of the Australian coal cargo carried by the vessel.
