Cochin Shipyard Limited Receives Orders Worth More Than 500 Crore

Since its founding in 1972, Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has pushed forward its shipbuilding industry and implemented multiple refits and life extension plans.

In addition to serving their clients worldwide, CSL has received an order to build 2 Feeder Container Vessels with zero emission for the Samskip Group of the Netherlands, along with the potential for two more.

It’s projected that the first vessel will be finished within 28 months, with the other following in 34 months – a total value estimated at Rs 550 crore. These vessels can support 365 high-cube containers every 45 feet long, suiting Europe’s rising demand for eco-friendly transport modes.

Additionally, CSL’s stocks opened up at Rs 449.95 and rose to Rs 473.65 on its day-high – 52-week low at Rs 290.50 while its 52-week high is Rs 686.80, respectively.

Besides that, promoters own 72.86% of CSL’s shares while institutions and non-institutional investors own 10.74% and 16.39%, accordingly; currently, it holds a market capitalization of around Rs 6,209 crore.
