Singapore’s First LNG-Powered Bunker Tanker Delivered Successfully

Sinanju Tankers Holdings Pte Ltd is pleased to share the successful delivery of Marine Vicky, Singapore’s first LNG-powered bunker tanker.

She will join the fleet and commence operations in Singapore within Q1 as planned. Sinanju Tankers thanks the team at Keppel Nantong shipyard for her on-schedule delivery with a perfect safety record.

Background

Singapore has welcomed its first LNG-utilising bunker tanker, in the form of the dual-fuel, 7,990dwt Marine Vicky.

Built by Keppel Nantong Shipyard for Singaporean bunker tanker owner/operator Sinanju,  the tanker was also designed domestically, by naval architect SeaTech Solutions International. SeaTech claims to have drawn up 77 bunker tanker designs for Singaporean operations to date.

The vessel was named Marine Vicky by Ms Quah Ley Hoon, Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), and Lady Sponsor of the vessel, at a ceremony that took place in Keppel Nantong, China. Owned and operated by Sinanju Tankers Holdings Pte Ltd (Sinanju), the bunker tanker will deliver marine fuels to ocean-going vessels within Singapore port limits.
