Ship Carrying 20,000 Tonnes Of Fertilizer From China Sent Back By Sri Lanka
A Chinese company has reportedly filed an international arbitration case against Sri Lanka as the country rejected a massive consignment of fertilizer. Efforts to reach a “constructive agreement” to resolve the issue failed, official media here reported on Wednesday.
A ship carrying 20,000 tonnes of fertilizer from Seawin Biotech meant for delivery to Sri Lanka is heading back after being unsuccessful in reaching an agreement with Sri Lanka, despite efforts to resolve the dispute, per reports from Global Times.
The ship is to reach Singapore, where the firm has launched an international arbitration process for dealing with a growing dispute revolving around a contract with regards to fertilizer export to Sri Lanka.
