Panama Maritime Authority Grants First Permit To Crowley For LNG Bunkering Services
A notable development in the maritime industry has occurred, with the Panama Maritime Authority granting Crowley the first permit to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) on the Pacific side of the Panama Canal.
The supply of LNG to these ports is an expansion of a sustainable and better alternative for fuel in the maritime industry.

Crowley is set to cater to the ports’ bunkering needs through a ship-to-ship transfer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and related solutions, which will significantly reduce the emissions of ships.
This step has been initiated in response to the increasing deployment of LNG-powered ships.
Over the years, Crowley has played a major role in the LNG supply chain.
From opening an LNG truck loading facility in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, in 2022 to building the biggest LNG bunker barge in the US in the coming years, Crowley has set an example of its commitment to sustainably serving the maritime industry.
