Missing US Navy SEALs Declared Deceased After Exhaustive Search Operation

As reported by military sources on Sunday, the status of two US Navy SEALs who had been missing earlier this month in the Gulf of Aden has been updated to deceased, and they have not been found. The US Central Command announced on X that the SEALS were declared missing during a January 11 operation close to the coast of Somalia after they boarded an Iranian vessel.

The sacrifice and leadership demonstrated by the two Naval Special Warfare warriors will be fondly remembered. In a statement, CENTCOM Commander Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla said their thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones, the US Navy, and the Special Operations community during such a trying period.

The US has reacted to Houthi attacks by launching a series of strikes. The Houthis have been attacking merchant vessels in the Red Sea, which has significantly disrupted worldwide trade and also raised fears related to supply bottlenecks.

The US Central Command forces struck a Houthi anti-ship missile on Saturday that was targeted into the Gulf of Aden and was prepared to be launched, the US military reported.
