Maersk Line Named ‘Container Line Of The Year’
In a challenging year for the shipping industry, Maersk line receives prestigious award from Lloyd’s loading list’s readers, recognising best achievements in freight logistics over the last year.
During a gala event in London’s Lancaster Hotel Maersk Line received the Readers’ Vote Award for Container Line of the Year at the 20th edition of Global Freight Awards organised by Lloyd’s Loading List.
Maersk Line’s Regional Chief Executive for North Europe Karsten Kildahl said “I see this as a recognition of our continuous efforts to provide consistent and reliable service to our customers in a dynamically changing market environment.”
In a very eventful year for the shipping industry, Maersk Line has focused on service improvements around the world, not least with the recently redesigned East-West Network and a number of e-commerce solutions facilitating new, smarter ways for customers to do business with the company.
Over the past months Maersk Line has optimised its service portfolio with the addition of products designed specifically to address the needs of various customer segments and geographies, like the Colombia Express between North Europe and Latin America or the short-sea connection between Algeciras in Spain and UK & Ireland (Irish Sea service, launched jointly with sister company Seago Line). Other services have been significantly enhanced, like the CRX service between Europe and Central America, which since April also includes Cuba.
“We are very pleased to receive this award from the readers, many of whom are our customers. We are committed to providing them with transportation solutions they need for developing their businesses with us and capturing growth opportunities in the market”, concludes Karsten Kildahl.
Lloyd’s Loading List Global Freight Awards is an annual recognition given by a leading freight logistics publication to key industry players for their accomplishments over the past year.
