By joining the Global Maritime Forum’s All Aboard Alliance, Höegh Autoliners reiterates its efforts to improve diversity, equality, and inclusion in the maritime industry. This is an imperative focus and a task that we need to solve together, says CEO Andreas Enger.
Höegh Autoliners is proud to be one of the founding members of All Aboard – The Alliance for a Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive Maritime Industry (hereafter All Aboard Alliance).
The company firmly believe that the need for focus on diversity, equality, and inclusion has never been stronger. And that we owe it to both the present and the future to improve collectively.
“We need to gather all efforts in a united maritime focus to improve focus on diversity and inclusion in our industry to ensure quality and fairness. Therefore, we are proud to be a founding member of the All Aboard Alliance. To us, diversity, equality and inclusion are three all-important pillars of our commitment to our people” says CEO of Höegh Autoliners, Andreas Enger.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been yet another proof underlining the need for an even more strategic, immediate and collective focus in making the industry more inclusive by supporting employees’ sense of belonging, wellbeing and empowerment, says Andreas Enger:
“At Höegh Autoliners we continuingly strive to create a safe workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to bring their full, authentic selves to work. And where everybody has equal opportunities no matter their background, gender, sexual orientation or religion. This is not a timed project with an end date, but an ongoing cultural effort where we absolutely need to succeed. By being a founding member of the All Aboard Alliance we hope to contribute to the spreading of the focus and need for action to even more members of the maritime family.”
Committed to upholding a permanent focus
Höegh Autoliners is at its base a diverse company with employees of 22 different nationalities based in 16 countries all around the world. The company is shaped by a range of perspectives and conducting business across nationalities, regions and continents, the workforce more often than not reflects this.
But this does not automatically ensure diversity or inclusivity. Ensuring this needs constant work and commitment, says Chief HR and Communications Officer at Höegh Autoliners, Laura Exner:
“An ongoing and dedicated focus to continuingly improve our inclusivity both as colleagues and company is needed to ensure that diversity and equal opportunities is not just company values but things that permeate our way of being at all times at Höegh Autoliners. We are proud to be part of this very needed initiative. And we are committed to upholding a permanent focus on these industry pillars, as we see them.”
