DNV GL Wins Lloyd’s List Asia Pacific “Excellence In Training Award”
DNV GL’s Maritime Academy won the “Excellence in Training Award” at the Lloyd’s List Asia Pacific Awards presented on 26 October 2017 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, with a crowd of over 350 people.
DNV GL’s Maritime Academy won the “Excellence in Training Award” at the Lloyd’s List Asia Pacific Awards presented on 26 October 2017 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, with a crowd of over 350 people.
The Maritime Training Academy has been recognized by the judges for its very broad portfolio as well as the availability of its courses over an extensive range of countries. Besides the public courses, e-learnings and online training sessions, the Academy also provides in-house training for customers and has also worked with customers to tailor-make customized training that suits their specific needs.

Centred on the core theme of developing people, operating ships and building ships, DNV GL’s Maritime Academy offers more than 150 courses, one of the broadest portfolios in the industry. The Maritime Academy in South East Asia, India and Pacific runs three academies located in Singapore, Philippines and India.
The Lloyd’s List Award series recognizes the industry’s successes, setting a benchmark for excellence while rewarding innovative ideas and concepts that have pushed the boundaries of what is possible.
Recipients are chosen from entries taken from around the Asia Pacific region and adjudicated by a distinguished judging panel which this year included: Su Yin Anand, Partner, Ince & Co; Captain Abishek Asija, General Manager, Head of Business, Synergy Group; David Chin, Executive Director, Singapore Maritime Foundation; Khalid Hashim, Chief Executive, Precious Shipping; David Roberts, Managing Director, The Standard P&I Club; Marlon Rono, President, Magsaysay; Beng Tee Tan, Assistant Chief Executive, Development, MPA; Tim Wilkins, Regional Manager Asia-Pacific, Intertanko; and Abdul Hadhi, Editor of Lloyd’s List Asia and Chairman of the judging panel.
