Cruise Ships Start Returning To Canada After 2 Years
After the cruise industry’s two-year lockdown, the first vessel has once again sailed back into Canada’s waters. Cruise vessels saw the direst outbreaks early on in the pandemic, with epic, crushing outcomes for the sector. There are high hopes with the season beginning officially, but COVID-19 may again complicate the comeback.
Guests disembarked from the cruise ship dubbed Holland America Koningsdam after it docked at Vancouver’s Canada Place cruise terminal in Canada on 10 April. On Sunday, the Holland America Koningsdam was earmarked as the first cruise ship that called at the Vancouver Port in nearly two and half years from the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Almost 310 cruise vessel calls are expected for 2022, per the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority.
