CMA CGM’s First 15,000 TEU Ship Equipped With Advanced Air Quality System Joins Fleet

The CMA CGM ZEPHYR, first in a series of 5 15 000 TEU container vessels equipped with an Advanced Air Quality System (AAQS), has joined the CMA CGM Group’s fleet.

The CMA CGM Group has invited Ms. Belinda PENG, owner of the WUDI Group to be the Godmother of the CMA CGM ZEPHYR. CMA CGM and WUDI Group, a furniture manufacturer and seller exporting its products to 50 countries, share the same determination to work towards sustainable transport and logistics. The naming ceremony took place on August 27th at the Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai. The CMA CGM ZEPHYR has started its maiden voyage on August 31st on the CIMEX 5 line connecting Asia and the Gulf.

The Advanced Air Quality System enables CMA CGM to limit sulfur emissions from its vessels, in compliance with the latest international regulations. The Group has opted for a system that can function in a closed loop, which enables residue to be collected for treatment at land in specialized sectors.
