Cargo Ship And A Container Ship Collide Off The Coast Of Ahirkapi, Istanbul

In a statement to RIA Novosti, the Coast Guard’s General Directorate mentioned that the cargo vessel sailing from the Russian Federation and the container vessel collided off the Istanbul coast, and zero injuries had been reported.

The coast guard added that the bulk carrier that was 228 meters long and dubbed the New Legend, as well as the 141-meter-long container vessel called the Elbsun, ran into a collision at the Akhyrkapi pier close to the Marmara Sea.

Per the interlocutor of the agency, New Legend, flying the flag of Hong Kong, was sailing to Malaysia from the Russian Federation. The container vessel flies the flag of Portugal.

The Coast Guard declared that, per the investigation results, no deaths or injuries occurred as a result of this incident, and zero damages to the environment were also recorded.

Per media reports, a ferry crew in Greece threw a guest under the vessel’s propellers.
