Breaking: Ships Collide At Karachi Port, Containers Fall Into Sea [Video & Photos]
Two heavy loaded ships collided at Karachi port on Monday resulting in falling off of at least 21 containers into the water, according to a local media.
According to reports coming in, the collision took place between two vessels Hapag-Lloyd’s ship Tolten and Hamburg Bay. Operations at the South Asia Port Terminal Limited (SAPT) have been suspended following the collision.
The authorities claim that they have started an operation to remove the containers from the water and an investigation has also been initiated.
The port will be reopened once the containers are removed from the shipping route.
