AIDA Cruises Appoints Germany’s First Female Cruise Captain
From now on Nicole Langosch (34) takes over the command on AIDAsol. So she is the first woman in the position of captain in the AIDA fleet and the highest ranking woman on a cruise ship in Germany.
Nicole Langosch was born in Osterode in the Harz and grew up in Herborn in Hesse. About the sailing she came for the first time in contact with the sea. She completed her nautical studies in Leer. During her subsequent study of logistics, she worked for a container shipping company in Oakland (New Zealand) and for the European Parliament in Brussels. Langosch completed her first nautical internship on a container ship. For ten years she has been working in various positions on the AIDA ships.

The 253 meter long and 32 meter wide AIDAsol is one of 12 vessels of the AIDA fleet and currently on the road between the Canary Islands and Madeira. On March 25, 2018, Captain Langosch transferred the ship to Hamburg. From here onwards, starting on April 7, 2018, travel to northern Europe and Norway.
AIDA Cruises currently employs 14 female nautical officers aboard its fleet. AIDA Cruises offers an innovative education concept in the nautical department in Warnemünde with tailor-made combined training and a dual study program in cooperation with the University of Wismar.
