The Coast Guard has also confirmed that though the vessels were impaired significantly, neither of them has a possibility of sinking. The LNG carrier, SM JEJU LNG1, was empty during the collision.

In contrast, the 5900-ton freighter had been loaded with containers and vehicles when the accident took place, and the Coast Guard has also confirmed that the freighter was having excess guests at its limit. A more thorough investigation is in progress to determine the crash’s cause.
