2 Russian Frigates Arrive In China, A Sign Of Deepening Military Ties
Two Russian Navy vessels have reached China for a “friendly visit.”
The vessels of the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet arrived in Shanghai, China’s largest city, on Wednesday, per the Chinese daily Global Times.
The vessels’ seven-day visit comes two days after Beijing and Moscow agreed to cooperate in professional fields and positively contribute to maintaining regional and world peace and stability.
Nikolai Yevmenov, Russia’s Navy Commander-in-Chief, met Gen. Li Shangfu, the Chinese Defense Minister, in Beijing on Monday, where the two discussed bilateral and regional issues.
