Queen Victoria has nearly 967 crew members and about 1,824 guests on board. The cruise line further reported that it would be increasing the cleaning and disinfection procedures per its outbreak prevention protocol and response plan, isolating the ill guests and crew members, and informing the current passengers and crew members about the present scenario on board.

The CDC’s Vessel Sanitation Program monitors the situation and reviews the vessel’s outbreak response and sanitation procedures. Cunard Cruise Line has confirmed in its statement to ABC News that its guests on Queen Victoria had unexpectedly fallen ill.

Cunard reportedly confirms that several passengers reported the symptoms of a gastrointestinal illness on Queen Victoria on its voyage V405, which started from Florida on 22 January and reached San Francisco on 7 February. They activated the enhanced health and safety protocols to maintain the well-being of guests and crew members on the vessel, and the measures have been highly effective, the firm mentioned in a statement.
