Infographic: Top 10 Ship Owning Nations In 2017

Vesselsvalue has put together an infographic on the top 10 ship owning nations by fleet value in 2017.

Bunkers have had a deceptively good 2016 following the record lows at the start of the year. The top three bunker owning nations: Greece, Japan and China, have seen their fleets rise by over USD 4 billion each.

However, the German container fleet shrunk by nearly USD 11 billion throughout 2016 after large losses in the sector.

Greek tanker owners started 2016 earnings more than USD 100,000/day on their vessels.

Note: The country total includes offshore vessels as well as blue sea ship types (container, tanker, bulker and gas vessels).
