Perdido is the world’s deepest offshore oil drilling and production platform. Moored in 2,450 meters (8,000 feet) of water in the Gulf of Mexico, it opened up a new frontier in deep-water oil and gas production.

The first of two new container vessels of Eimskip was launched in Weihai in China. The launching went well and it’s expected that the vessel will be delivered in the beginning of January 2014, and that she will call her home port in Iceland the second quarter 2014.
