Since 2021, Yara and NYK have been working on making ammonia-fueled shipping a reality. Now, their efforts have led to the first-ever charter contract for an AFMGC.

NYK is committed to achieving net-zero GHG emissions by 2050. This next-gen ammonia-fueled vessel is a major step toward reducing carbon intensity in global shipping.
The ship will be 180m long, 32m wide, and have a 40,000m³ capacity. It is designed to transport ammonia for use in power generation, marine fuel, and industrial applications.
