Yemen’s Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for two recent attacks on the US Navy warship and a commercial vessel in the Red Sea.

Houthi Military Spokesman said that the militia’s naval units carried out a missile strike on the USS Mason deployed in the Red Sea.

The USS Mason, part of the US-led coalition tasked with protecting shipping routes from the Houthi threats, reportedly intercepted and destroyed an anti-ship ballistic missile launched by Houthi militants earlier this week.

Recent conflicts between the Houthi forces and the international maritime forces have led to a situation of instability in crucial waterways such as the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The Houthis have launched numerous missile and drone attacks on commercial and naval vessels in these regions.

The disruption of maritime traffic via critical corridors, such as the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean Sea, highlights the conflict’s broader consequences for global trade.
