US Navy Sends Assault Ship & Marines to East Mediterranean Sea Amidst Fear of Israel-Hezbollah War

In response to escalating tensions in the Middle East, the U.S. has deployed the USS Wasp, along with USS Oak Hill and USS New York, to the Mediterranean Sea.

These three ships form the Amphibious Ready Group, equipped to conduct independent amphibious operations and support a range of missions.

The deployment comes as the possibility of war between Israel and the Hezbollah group in Lebanon grows, with recent conflicts intensifying the situation.

The U.S. has sent around 2,000 marines, including those trained for evacuating people from war zones, to assist in potential rescue operations and prevent escalation.

The U.S. is in talks with allies to coordinate evacuation plans and joint military operations if necessary, ensuring a unified response to the crisis.

Backed by Iran, Hezbollah controls large parts of Lebanon and poses a significant threat with over 100,000 missiles and rockets and more than 50,000 fighters.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has visited the U.S. to discuss the potential for war with Hezbollah, highlighting the urgent need for strategic planning.
