The World’s Largest Research Vessel Is Ready to Set Sail

The world’s largest research and expedition vessel, REV Ocean, is set to revolutionize marine science. V.Ships has been chosen to manage this state-of-the-art floating laboratory.

Designed for cutting-edge research, the vessel will study critical ocean threats, including CO2 emissions, plastic pollution, and overfishing.

Built in Norway, REV Ocean features the most advanced marine technology, including sonar, ROVs, onboard laboratories, and a submarine for deep-sea exploration.

Its hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, combined with a 3MW lithium-ion battery, ensures maximum efficiency with minimal environmental impact.

With a capacity for 106 people, including 50-65 crew members, the ship will embark on global expeditions to explore and protect marine ecosystems.

The vessel will depart from Norway in 2025 for its final outfitting in the Netherlands, before officially beginning operations in 2027.

With V.Ships’ expertise, REV Ocean will push the boundaries of ocean research—paving the way for a healthier, more sustainable future for our planet’s waters!
