Kongsberg Maritime delivers 1st REACH REMOTE USV for Underwater Surveys

Kongsberg Maritime has delivered the REACH REMOTE 1, a groundbreaking 24-meter unmanned surface vessel designed to redefine offshore operations.

Equipped with advanced Kongsberg technology, it completed sea trials and is now ready for its first mission—underwater surveys off Norway’s coast.

This project is a collaboration between Kongsberg Maritime, Reach Subsea, and Massterly, combining expertise to push the boundaries of uncrewed maritime operations.

The USV is remotely controlled from a Remote Operations Centre (ROC), ensuring safer, cost-efficient, and eco-friendly operations compared to traditional crewed vessels.

During sea trials, operations were monitored from a mobile ROC aboard a support vessel, ensuring safety and precision in every maneuver.

Built with proven technology, the REACH REMOTE 1 meets stringent regulatory requirements and boasts unmatched reliability in uncrewed vessel operations.

With plans to add more autonomous capabilities, this vessel is set to revolutionize the offshore industry and pave the way for a new era of maritime innovation.
