Houthis Claim 7th Missile Strike on U.S. Aircraft Carrier in Red Sea

The Houthis claim they’ve targeted the U.S. Navy’s Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group in the Red Sea for the seventh time, raising questions about escalating tensions.

This comes after a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. Houthi leaders have stated they will resume attacks if Israel violates the ceasefire.

On Friday, the group announced missile attacks on Israel and drone strikes on the U.S. Navy Carrier Strike Group. The U.S. Central Command has yet to respond.

Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi called the ceasefire a failure of U.S. and Israeli efforts to destroy Gaza but hinted at more aggression if violence in Gaza continues.

Leading up to the ceasefire, reports indicated continued Israeli bombing in Gaza, adding uncertainty to the truce’s stability.

The Houthis have warned that Red Sea shipping routes remain at risk as they monitor the ceasefire, signaling potential instability in the region.

Amid the rising tensions, the Red Sea’s security hangs in the balance, with geopolitical repercussions for global shipping and regional peace efforts.
