China Unveils the World’s Largest Floating Wind Turbine!

China has unveiled “Qihang,” the world’s largest 20 MW floating offshore wind turbine, marking a new milestone in renewable energy innovation.

This massive turbine boasts a rotor diameter of 260 meters—equal to seven football fields—and a hub height of 151 meters, showcasing its record-breaking scale.

Each rotation of the turbine generates enough electricity to power a household for up to four days, saving 25,000 tons of coal annually.

With advanced control systems and typhoon-resistant technologies, “Qihang” is designed to operate reliably in extreme sea conditions for 25 years.

Rigorous testing, with over 200 monitoring points, ensures its performance under varying wind, wave, and current conditions, setting new standards for offshore wind energy.

Compared to competitors, including Mingyang’s upcoming 22 MW turbine, “Qihang” leads the race in scale, efficiency, and innovation.

Once testing is complete, the turbine will power deep-sea areas, further cementing China’s position as the global leader in offshore wind energy.

“Qihang” symbolizes the future of sustainable energy, blending scale, innovation, and reliability to redefine the possibilities of offshore wind power.
