Watch: Ship Transiting Panama Canal Collides With A Bridge
The Panama Canal reported that this Tuesday a ship collided the railway bridge over the Chagres river in the Gamboa community.
The Panama Canal is investigating the causes for the collision and the company operating the railroad was immediately notified.
Panama Canal personnel will also inspect the bridge structure to assess the extent of the damage.
Access to and from the Gamboa community is not affected.
The rest of the operations and transits by the interoceanic route continue on a regular basis.
