French ballerina and choreographer Victoria Dauberville has mesmerised the internet with a breathtaking dance performance on the bow of a Ponant cruise ship in Antarctica’s icy waters.

The video, captured by photographer Mathieu Forget, shows Dauberville’s graceful movements against a stunning backdrop of floating ice, making the moment appear surreal.

As the video circulated widely on social media, many users questioned its authenticity, with some believing it was generated using artificial intelligence (AI). Comments such as “I thought it was AI” and “Are we sure this is not AI-generated?” flooded the internet.

However, Dauberville addressed the speculation by sharing the video on Instagram with the caption “White Heaven. Special thanks to the team for bringing this vision to life. PS: No AI was used for this video.”

Dauberville and Forget later shared a behind-the-scenes clip, revealing how the entire performance was filmed. The footage dispelled doubts and reassured viewers that the performance was real.

Dauberville performed in freezing temperatures while balancing on the bow of the moving ship. Despite the extreme conditions, she executed each movement flawlessly.

Forget, who filmed the performance, later stated, “We knew the conditions would be challenging, but we also knew that if we could pull it off, it would be spectacular.”

Social media users flooded the comment section with admiration and concern. Some praised her skill and bravery, while others worried about the risks involved. One person wrote, “This is very impressive. I feel it puts a talented performer in career-ending danger though.”

Another shared, “I can’t wait to see the behind-the-scenes on this!” A user also expressed awe at the soundtrack used, stating, “I love that she’s doing it to Hans Zimmer.”

This performance is not the first time Dauberville has impressed audiences with her unique routines. She has previously performed ballet in front of the Eiffel Tower and even danced on a treadmill.

Her extraordinary talent earned her a spot on Forbes Europe’s 30 Under 30 list in 2024.

Forget also spoke about their creative collaboration, saying “Our shared passion for dance has been a foundation, allowing us to bridge our differences and create something greater together. It’s been a journey of mutual inspiration, and I feel incredibly lucky to have her as both a partner and a creative collaborator.

Forget further revealed that the most challenging parts of filming were the freezing temperatures, strong winds, and the ship’s constant movement.

He stated that the most unforgettable moment was witnessing his wife dance so gracefully against the icy Antarctic backdrop.

After completing the performance, Daubervilled immediately put on warm clothes and was quickly helped back onto the ship due to the extreme cold.
