T.Parker Host Acquires Transmarine, Forming the U.S.’s Biggest Tramp Ship Agency

T. Parker Host (HOST), a provider of maritime agency and terminal services in the U.S, has acquired Transmarine Navigation Corporation, a West Coast Ship Agency, which has led to the formation of the biggest independent tramp ship agency in the U.S. It will also expand HOST’s maritime coverage from coast to coast, including the Hawaiian Islands.

HOST, based in Louisiana, completed 100 years in 2023. It transformed the erstwhile Avondale Shipyard into its home base as the Avondale Global Gateway. Transmarine is headquartered in Long Beach, California and is quite well-known on the West Coast.

Adam Anderson, Chairman and CEO of T. Parker Host, said that this strategic acquisition aligns with their vision to deliver seamless, high-touch marine solutions across every major U.S. port.
He added that by joining forces with Transmarine, they are expanding their footprint into the Pacific and enhancing their services with the same responsiveness, precision and trust as they have come to expect at every major port in the U.S.

With over 85 years of experience in navigating the Pacific corridor, the companies said that Transmarine brings long-standing relationships and operational excellence in Honolulu, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and Long Beach.

HOST now operates at every major port in the country with expanded presence in Hawaii and the Pacific Coast. After the acquisition, the offices in New Orleans and Houston will merge, continuing to service the existing clients of both firms, while the other operations will be integrated to offer uninterrupted service supported by HOST’s infrastructure and digital systems.

This acquisition will further solidify its leadership position in the maritime industry while investing in best-in-class service, people and technologies.
