S.Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding Wins LNG-FSRU Order From Japan’s MOL

reuters logoDaewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co Ltd said on Friday it won an order to build the world’s largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) from Japan’s Mitsui O.S.K Lines Ltd (MOL).

The South Korean shipbuilder said in a statement that the FSRU, which will be able to store 263,000 cubic meters of gas, will be delivered by mid-2016.

A Daewoo spokesman declined to reveal the size of the order.
