ONE-Seaspan Establish New Ship Management & Talent Development Company, ONESEA

Ocean Network Express (ONE), a Singapore-based Japanese container shipping company, and Seaspan Corporation, a Canadian shipbuilder, have together announced the formation of OneSea Solutions Pte Ltd (ONESEA), a new joint venture to improve maritime talent development and technical ship management.

The company, jointly owned and operated by ONE and Seaspan, combines the expertise and experience of both maritime giants to offer innovative solutions for the industry.

ONESEA, headquartered in Singapore, will offer technical ship management services to container ships owned by ONE and those chartered by other vessel owners.

The company will focus on improving safety, operational efficiency, and integrating advanced decarbonizing and digital solutions to maximize ONE’s vessel operations.

Raman Handa, CEO of ONESEA, shared that the launch of the new company will strengthen the partnership between ONE and Seaspan. He said the company is committed to achieving the highest industry standards through technology and exceptional talent.

Handa added that ONESEA aims to establish a high-performing ship management company that leads in efficiency, innovation and safety.

ONESEA will focus on the following areas:

Safety and Efficiency- The company will implement best practices in safety protocols and improve operational efficiency across its fleet.

Decarbonization and Digitalization- The company will use the latest technology to reduce emissions and improve the digital management of vessels.

Talent Development- The company will be investing in the training and growth of skilled maritime professionals.

Ocean Network Express operates a fleet of over 240 vessels with a total capacity of over 1.9 million TEUs. It offers reliable container shipping services to over 120 countries around the world.

Seaspan, on the other hand, operates a fleet of over 217 vessels with a total capacity of about 2.3 million TEUs, including 41 newbuilds that are set to be delivered in the coming years.

By combining both the companies strength, ONE and Seaspan aim to set new standards in the maritime industry.
