Multiple Passengers Injured In Ferry-Cargo Ship Collision In The Philippines
Many passengers suffered minor injuries after a ferry collided with a cargo vessel in the central Philippines, per the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
The PCG also mentioned that the accident occurred around 3 pm local time on Sunday as the ferry was sailing along the Mactan channel close to the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge, per the Xinhua news agency.
The PCG added that the fast craft, with 185 individuals on board, set sail from Ormoc City in Leyte for Cebu, the Phillippines’ second largest city.
The PCG based in Cebu mentioned that the passengers were accounted for, while the ferry sustained damages in the front.
