KR & HD Hyundai Sign MOU For Cloud-based Next-Gen Smart Ship Solution
KR has signed an MoU with HD Hyundai to collaborate on the pilot project of a cloud-based next-gen smart ship solution (ISS 2.0) built by HD Hyundai.
The MoU was signed at Posidonia this year.
The project, undertaken jointly by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, HD Hyundai Marine Solution, KR, and Sinokor Merchant Marine, aims to equip and demonstrate smart vessel solutions on vessels.
KR plans to conduct tech reviews on the basis of classification rules and international and domestic regulations, verifying the suitability of the next-gen smart vessel solutions.
The smart ship solution, likely to undergo verifications in this assignment, includes functions like optimal route guidance, crew task support functionalities, and accident video analysis solutions.
Jeon Seungho, the VP of HD HHI, commented that HD Hyundai is striving to secure user-centered digital solution tech.
This time, the next-gen smart ship solution was developed, permitting continuous remote onshore software management and updates to new solutions, even following the delivery to a vessel.
The firm will continue to improve digital ship development by advancing and adding cloud-based AI operation guide functionalities to make it relatively easier for crew members to operate the equipment.
