Israel Urges EU To Designate Houthis As A Terrorist Organisation
Israel is trying to get the Iranian-backed Houthi Group in Yemen designated as a terrorist organisation.
Houthis have fired drones and missiles towards Israel in solidarity with Palestinians, thousands of whom have been killed and displaced as a result of Israeli attacks on schools, colleges, and hospitals.
Houthi attacks on international shipping have had a catastrophic impact on maritime trade as ships are forced to take longer routes around Africa, which has given rise to fears over global inflation.
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said that Houthis are a threat not only to Israel but the whole world and the first thing which should be done is to designate them as a terrorist organisation.

Sa’ar also sent a letter to the UN Security Council President and requested an emergency session to condemn the Houthi attacks and Iran’s support for them.
He added that the U.S., UAE, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Israel have designated them as terrorists.
The military of Israel on Saturday failed to intercept a missile fired from Yemen which fell in the Tel Aviv-Jaffa area and injured 14 people.
