Iranian Navy Ships Make Historic First-Ever Visit To Malaysia
In a historic first, two Iranian naval vessels arrived in Malaysia, strengthening diplomatic and military relations between the two nations.
The vessels, identified as the auxiliary ship IRIS Shahid Mahdavi (110-3) and the frigate IRINS Dena (75), docked at Port Klang on Wednesday for an operational visit.
The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) officially welcomed the ships in a ceremony attended by senior officials from both countries.
A formal welcoming ceremony was held, led by RMN’s Human Resource Development Director, Captain Erman Shahril Adlan. The RMN Central Band performed at the event, adding to the ceremonial significance of the occasion.
Iranian Ambassador to Malaysia, Valiollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi, was also present to receive the visiting delegation.
Following the ceremony, Captain Erman and his team toured both Iranian navy vessels in a meet-and-greet session with their respective officers.
This interaction provided an opportunity for both navies to exchange knowledge and foster future cooperation.
The RMN described the visit as a historic milestone that will lay the foundation for stronger future relations between the Malaysian and Iranian navies.
