Houthis Vow To Continue Blockade Of Israeli Ships In The Red Sea
The Iranian-backed Yemeni Houthi terrorist group announced on November 03, 2024, that it would continue to enforce its maritime blockade of Israeli ships in the Red Sea.
This decision comes after claims that Israeli shipping companies are transferring ownership of their assets to other companies, per the Houthi officials.
Yahya Sarea, a military spokesperson for the Iran-aligned group, said that the Houthis had received “intelligence information” about Israeli shipping companies selling and transferring their maritime properties.
The Houthis clearly said that they would not recognize any change in ownership and warned parties against working with these companies.
Sarea stated that the Houthis will keep targeting ships linked to or heading to Israel.
He specified that the blockade would remain in effect until what the terrorist group referred to as “the aggression” ended, referring to ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon.
The group has expressed solidarity with Hamas and Hezbollah, declaring that it will accelerate its actions in support of these groups’ conflict against Israel.
In a televised speech, Sarea said that the blockade aims to put pressure on Israel until the siege on Gaza is lifted and military operations in Lebanon are stopped.
The Houthis reiterated that the Red Sea blockade targets all ships linked to Israel, regardless of any future asset transfers.
