Houthi Transport Ministry Blames U.S. and UK for Undersea Cable 'Glitch' In Red Sea

Yemen’s Houthi Transport Ministry declared on Saturday that there was a “glitch” in the undersea communication cables in the waters of the Red Sea due to the actions of the U.S. and U.K. naval vessels.

The actions endangered the safety and security of international communication and the easy flow of information, the ministry mentioned, reported by the Houthi-led Saba news agency, without providing any other details.

Glitches in the cables due to the militarization of the Red Sea by British and U.S. naval vessels reflect a severe threat to information security and social and economic stability for all nations in the world, the statement added.

The Houthis, who are in control of the most populated areas in Yemen, have also launched exploding missiles and drones at commercial vessels from November 19 to show protest against the Israeli military operations ongoing in Gaza. The U.S. and Britain have been carrying out strikes against the Houthis in response.
