China’s First Domestic Cruise Ship, Adora Magic City, Sets Sail Equipped With Wartsila Solution
China’s first-ever domestically built cruise vessel is a suite of solutions that include the NACOS Platinum Valmatic automation as well as a control system, valve control system, navigation system, engine and bridge control room console, low location lighting, and a smart motor control unit.
Besides, Wärtsilä has also contributed to the ship’s excellence with the successful delivery of the bow thruster system, its trim cable, and system, along with steel parts supply.
The integrated system enhances the efficacy and safety of the cruise and positions Adora Magic City as a pioneer in the broader Chinese cruise industry. The equipment was delivered successfully to the customer in 2021 and 2022, and now the vessel has started preparing for the maiden voyage from Shanghai on January 1, 2024.
The cruise industry has been one of the prime focus points for ANCS in extending innovative automation and making navigation abilities possible. The Adora Magic City represents a leap forward for the Chinese shipbuilding industry and also permits new opportunities for the larger cruising industry in China, mentioned Thomas Heldarskard-winnerskjold, the Director of Automation and Navigation at ANCS.
The project’s criticality lies in its role as a symbol of China’s ever-evolving prowess in shipbuilding and Wärtsilä ANCS, with their unique products and unending support, have permitted to set new standards in China for the luxury cruising industry, explained Zhou Qi, the Project Manager with Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, CSSC.
