Maritime Piracy has reached an all time high with the sudden increase in the number of piracy incidents. It’s high time we took some concrete steps to stop this gruesome activity and to make people aware of the consistent rise of this activity and its effects on the seafarers.
Marine Insight has launched the “Curb Piracy at High Seas” campaign to make people realize the amount of danger a mariner has to face while at high seas. It requires courage to put your life at stake and keep doing the work, neglecting the aspect of danger and security. The rise in piracy activities has brought to the surface, inadequacies of shipping companies and respective governments to given basic safety and protection to their seafarers.
In this introductory video we have made an attempt to give a brief synopsis of the present scenario of the global maritime piracy and how it is affecting each one of us, along with some hardcore statistics.
